One of the things the latter-day movement restores is the knowledge that our Heavenly Father has a plan for the salvation of mankind. Knowledge of this plan was given anciently, and has been restored in the latter days.

Our Heavenly Father's plan of salvation encompasses our travels from pre-mortal existence in heaven, through the Creation, to the Fall, wherein we were brought to experience mortal life, to death, to judgement, resurrection, and finally, on to eternal life and glory, made possible by the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
